7th grade:

 First quarter we are "exploring" the essential question "How has exploration left a significant and lasting impact on the world?"  Topics include:  The search for riches, Columbus and Spanish in America, World Discoveries, and 20th century exploration. 

6th grade:

 First quarter we are "exploring" the essential question "How and why do civilizations rise and leave a lasting impact?"  Topics include:  Creation of civilzation, how did natural geography play a role, what lasting impacts are present today from past civilzations, development of society, government, trade, art, power, etc.
