Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to Delores Moye Elementary School! I am proud to say that I am currently in my 27th year as an educator in District 90. I began my career as a 1st grade teacher at LaVerna Evans and have taught 6th grade at LaVerna Evans and Marie Schaefer. I then made the change to Administration at Delores Moye where I have been for 6 years.
Moye elementary is the largest elementary building in D90. We are home to about 750 students, 47 certified staff, and 75 support staff. We have 24 regular education classes for grades K-5, 4 Cross Categorical classrooms, 2 ED classrooms, 3 LD Resource classrooms, music, PE, and 2 Early Childhood classrooms. For students qualifying for related services, we offer reading intervention, speech and language therapy, and occupational and physical therapy.
At Moye, we have a very strong PTO and welcome parent volunteers in the classroom, the library, the tutoring program, and at special events. I believe that when home and school work together, we create excellent students.
At Moye we implement PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports). We are always mindful of the 3 R's, Respect, Responsibility, and Right Choices.
Communication is the key to success. I will send an electronic newsletter to each family at the beginning of each month. Classroom teachers will also send weekly newsletters and have an updated webpage through Edline. I certainly have an open door policy and invite you to stop by, call, or email any time.
We host several programs at Moye that help enhance and enrich our students. We offer Girls on the Run, All Pro Dads, 5th Grade Band, Mileage Club, Morning Tutoring, and Parks and Rec programs.
We look forward to serving you at Moye whether you are a family new to the district or a returning family. We are proud of our warm welcoming environment, treating your children with the love and respect that we treat our own children. Please remember that we have an open door policy, and I look forward to getting to know you and your students.
