Administering Medications At School

Medications should be given at home whenever possible. Please review the Medication Policy of O'Fallon School District 90 which can be found in your parent handbook and Section 7:270 of the Board Policy Manual. When it becomes necessary for the building nurse to administer medications (both prescription and over-the-counter such as ibuprofen, cough drops and cold medicine), then a Medication Authorization Form with a doctor's prescription and signed parental consent is required.  Medications must be in the original pharmacy or store bottle, which will stay at school for the entire time the medication is to be given.  Authorization forms are available in each school and downloadable under the Quick Links, Medical Forms.

The Illinois Legislature has issued new rules regarding the use of Rescue Inhalers for asthma in the schools.

 HANDS ONLY CPR

OFALLON 90 encourages parents and staff to be aware of HANDS ONLY CPR and the use of an Automatic External Defibrilator (AED). Please view this short 6 minute video from IHSA and endorsed by ISBE.
