District 90 Library Mission

District 90 libraries contain an organized collection of resources available to students and staff to supplement classroom instruction, foster reading for pleasure, enhance information literacy, and support research. Schedules are created by the building principals that strive to allow students in all grades to have equitable access to library media resources. Students are encouraged to freely select age appropriate materials as well as receive guided instruction on the selection of materials appropriate to specific, planned learning experiences. A major goal is to help create a positive experience for students in the library so that they become life long supporters of library services, foster a love for reading and understand how information is organized.
