    Dear Evans Families,

I would like to welcome all new and returning families to LaVerna Evans Elementary School for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. I know this summer was challenging, however, I hope you had an opportunity to enjoy some time with family and friends. The staff at Evans continues their work to provide all of our families with an excellent educational experience for the upcoming school year. All of our staff members worked on and off all summer to prepare for what this upcoming year will bring. Our staff continues working to provide an updated learning platform and supports in all areas of study, as this process is ongoing and fluid. We currently are in year 3 of a technology refresh, which includes access for all students to ipads/Chrome books in each classroom every day. We continue to integrate technology into our student learning with many innovative ideas that are both student and teacher led; we will need this to thrive in all learning platforms. We welcome the parents, students, and staff to be a part of our awesome upcoming year at Evans School.

I look forward to our students and families returning to school with our open house on August 14th and the opportunity to continue working with our outstanding Evans School community.  I very much appreciate your efforts to partner with us to continue our rich tradition of educational excellence at Evans School.

    School Wide Expectations- PBIS

We have adopted a “Rock and Roll” theme for the 2023-24 school year for our PBIS program. Again, we will utilize School Wide Expectations in our Character Education Program to teach and manage the expected behaviors. These expectations are a part of a program known as Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). We will focus on rewarding positive behavior and making good choices at school. We hope you will join us in working with our students to achieve this goal.

Prior to the start of school we will send you information on the following items.
    -A link to the calendar
-Information on your child(s) teacher/class assignment
    -Skyward access
    -Bus/Transportation information
    -Volunteer in the library information
    -Café/ lunch/breakfast information
    -School supply process

Finally, I would like to thank all of you for your continued support of your students and their education. Working Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM). Good luck and have a great school year!

    Sincerely,

    Ryan Keller, Principal
