  • BONUS POINT opportunity:

    Each quarter students will be able to select from a list of volunteer opportunities to earn bonus points in my class.

    2nd Quarter Community Service options:


    OPTION A: Benefit 5K                                      Register at www.Active.com (search for the race and our team: C@rrielrun) by Oct 26 and participate in the: Howling Habitat 5K Run to benefit O'Fallon's Habitat for Humanity's next build. The race is Sat, Oct 27 beginning at 8am at Carriel. Show Mrs. Stutzman the paid registration form to earn bonus points.   

    OPTION B: O'Fallon Garden Club                        The O'Fallon Garden Club will hold their annual Fall Clean-up of the O'Fallon Community Garden on Sat, Oct 27 from 9am - noon. Activities will involve helping remove plant debris from the garden beds by raking, digging, trimming, and hauling the debris to the compost area plus adding mulch where directed. Please bring work gloves and a water bottle. Be sure to introduce yourself to Ms. Atkins or Mr. Garnto to earn bonus points.

    OPTION C: School Board Meeting                      Attend a D90 School Board Meeting and witness board members discuss and enact school policy for our class and school to earn bonus points. Students must sign in, collect an agenda, remain for the entire meeting, introduce yourself to a Board member, Principal, Vice Principal, or Superintendent and ask them to sign the agenda. Return the signed agenda to Mrs. Stutzman by Friday, Dec 21. Upcoming dates: Nov 20 & Dec 18 (be check the website to see if the date or location has changed)

    OPTION D: Be a Santa to a Senior                    This program provides local low-income senior citizens a gift at the holidays. Students will check-out an ornament off our class tree and purchase a gift card (please tape the receipt to it) and a small personal item. Return the ornament, gift card and small personal item in a small gift bag, and a hand-made holiday card (signed by using only your first name) to Mrs. Stutzman by Wed, Dec 5 to earn bonus points.

  • 3rd Quarter Junior Achievement:

    Meetings will be held during lunch. Watch for information on my class board if you are interested in participating and learning how the world of economics works. Students must attend at least 6 meetings to be selected for the all-day hands-on JA Workshop in Chesterfield, MO.

  • 4th Quarter Illinois & U.S. Constitution:

    We will study the Illinois & the U.S. Constitution and take the 8th grade Constitution Test.
