Mrs. Deters

My name is Jackie Deters, and I am your child's 2nd grade teacher.  I gratuated from McKendree College with a master's degree in elementary education.  I have a husband, Nick, and two children, Brie and Brody. When I'm not working, I enjoy shopping and spending time outdoors. In my classroom, you will find students actively engaged in learning.  I believe in providing excitement for learning through use of projects, hands-on activities, technology, and cooperative learning.  The main goal for me as a teacher is to build a community in my classroom.  We work as a team!  I also work hard to make my classroom a place where my students feel safe, excited, and motivated to learn.  I will do my part, as an educator, to encourage and motivate each student to be the best they can be.
