Welcome to Fourth Grade!
Hi! I am Mrs. Pate and I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade again this year at Marie Schaefer. I am originally from St. Louis but have lived in Illinois for the past thirty-two years. I live in O’Fallon and have two children, Jordan and Carson, one beautiful granddaughter Ellie, a second granddaughter arriving in December, and two dogs, Tucker, and Sadie. I love boating, playing board games and volleyball.
I have a bachelor's and master's degree in special education and hold an elementary certificate as well. I have been teaching for thirty years and have taught every grade from kindergarten through high school. Of course, my favorite grade is fourth grade!
I look forward to getting to know your child and working with your family to help your child succeed this year. I hope that each student in my class will grow, not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. My goal is to help students become organized, responsible learners, and to instill in them the importance of honesty, respect and hard work. With your support, I know this will be a fun and memorable year in fourth grade!
