Mrs. Tori Engel
I am very excited to be rejoining O'Fallon District 90 as the Computer Science Teacher and Technology Coach for Carriel Junior High School! This will be my tenth year in education. I spent the last four years at Washington University's Institute for School Partnership as a Lead Instructional Specialist. During my time at the ISP, I served as the program manager for the Eastern Missouri Code.org Regional Partner and a Code.org Computer Science Principles Facilitator. In addition, I developed and edited physical science units for the K-8 science curriculum mySci, as well as created computer science integrations for students using robots and microcontrollers. I also worked with university faculty to help develop their K-12 broader impact portion of grant applications. Prior to my time at WashU, I was a middle and high school science teacher, serving 3 years as the 8th grade science teacher at Fulton Junior High School.
I believe every student should have access to computer science courses. My hope is students leave my classroom with the ability to navigate a computer with confidence and efficiency, as well as understanding the foundation technology provides to almost every industry and career they can pursue.
Outside of the classroom, my husband and I enjoy soaking up every moment with our hilarious and curious toddler.
