Degrees and Certifications:

B.A. Abilene Christian University M.A. United States Naval War College M.A. McKendree University

Mr. Osborne

Welcome to my classroom.  First thing you should know is I live to work with kids, and I love the rhythm of the school year.  This is my fourth year at Marie Schaefer Elementary, all of which has been in third grade. I love the transition age of third graders.  I am quite a lot older than most newer teachers, this being my second career.

I am originally from Ft. Worth Texas.  In 1989, I graduated from Arlington High School.  I attended Texas A&M University for a couple of years before finishing my undergraduate degree at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas.  I spent the next two years substitute teaching while working on a teaching certification.  At that point and after I determined I liked teaching, I said to myself, "I am young.  I'd like to serve and see the world."  So, I joined the Navy.  While stationed in Sasebo, Japan, I met my wife.  Scott AFB was our last duty station.

We have two children.  Both girls are currently in school here in O'Fallon in District 90 and at OTHS. We arrived in O'Fallon in 2013.   We have a small farm with chickens, goats and alpacas.  I am not a farmer by any stretch of the imagination, but we do love having animals around.

I retired from the Navy in 2015 and immediately began working on my Master of Arts degree in teaching at McKendree University.  While back in school, I also began substitute teaching again in all the surrounding schools and districts.

Interests/Hobbies:  I love to read and watch movies.  Working around the homestead is like a hobby as well.  I grew up playing all sports, but eventually settled on soccer.  I play when I can, but most of my time is spent coaching these days.  I have also taken up disc golf.  When I am not working around the homestead, mowing or coaching, chances are I am throwing discs.
