Miss Aleen Dutkanych

I'm Miss Dutkanych, welcome to Fourth grade! I have been teaching for 4 years now, and am so excited to begin my 5th year teaching! My first year teaching I had the opportunity to teach both 4th grade and Kindergarten. I volunteered to move to Kindergarten in the middle of the year due to the growing numbers of kiddos and joined as the 6th Kindergarten teacher at my shool in Chattanooga, TN. Following that year, I taught 3rd grade in Evansville, Illinois and also coached a Girls on the Run program there!

I earned my bachelors degree from Texas A&M University in 2019, WHOOP! I am currently working on my masters degree from Universtiy of Illinois in Educational Policy, Organization and Leadership. I-L-L -- I-N-I! My love for education extends outside of just our classroom. I am commited to learing new strategies, techniques, etc. to not only better myself, but my students as well.

I was born and raised in New Athens, IL and just recently bought a house in Freeburg to share with my fur-child, Brixton. He loves peanut butter, long walks to the park and sleep. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, running, playing volleyball, crafting and traveling!

I can confidently say that education is my passion, as is serving the community in which I teach. I believe whole-heartedly the secret to creating a positive and safe classroom environment is building relationships with not only students, but their families too.
